Towards Greater Aid Effectiveness? The Law of EU Development Cooperation in Higher Education

Since the 2005 Paris Declaration, aid effectiveness concerns have successfully permeated EU development policy on a variety of levels and in different policy sectors. However, can the same be said for the laws and regulations of the administrative framework for implementing EU development cooperation? Following the example of higher education development cooperation and by using an interdisciplinary Law and Economics approach, this doctoral research project examines the contractual agreements of EU development cooperation, and assesses in how far these promote the operationalisation of aid effectiveness in European development law and policy.
