International MADM Alumni Conference „Evaluation of Development Interventions - Current Debates, Methods, and Best Practices” taking place November 2019

Call announcement

As part of its alumni programme, the IEE regularly hosts international conferences for graduates of the MA Development Management programme. Against this background, we gladly announce the next conference of this series, titled “Evaluation of Development Interventions - Current Debates, Methods, and Best Practices” (4th - 8th of November 2019). This conference is devoted to reflecting on how well typical evaluation practices yield the desired insights in the actual outcomes and impact of a development intervention. Based on case studies, conference participants will elaborate on appropriate evaluation methods in different workshops.

Alumni of five collaborating master programmes are invited to apply for their participation. Invited alumni are financially supported concerning their travel costs (flight, train, and hotel). The collaborating programmes are the MA programme in Development Management (MADM; Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE); Ruhr-University Bochum), the MA programme in International and Development Economics (MIDE; HTW Berlin), the Small Enterprise Promotion and Training Programme (SEPT; Leipzig University), the MA programme in Development and Governance (Institute of Political Science (IfP); University of Duisburg-Essen), and the MA programme in International Relations and Development Policy (Institute for Development and Peace (INEF); University of Duisburg-Essen).

We are grateful for the financial support provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Foreign Office (AA). More than 35 alumni of the programmes mentioned above will be invited and funded based on this support.
