New Scholarship holders selected for the 2020 intake!

For the 2020 intake, the selection committee of the South African-German Centre for Development Research (SA-GER CDR) have selected 2 Master Students and 1 PhD Student out of 270 Master and 230 PhD applicants to commence their studies at the SA-GER CDR in January 2020.

The number of applications for DAAD scholarships remained more or less stable, but the share of PhD applicants has consistantly risen from intake to intake. There is still a low number of applications from South Africa.

For the PhD in Development Studies, Kenechukwu Ikebuaku from Nigeria was selected for a scholarship for 3 years. Fabakary Daffeh from Gambia was selected for the Master in Development Studies; and Eric Nordio from Ghana was selected for the Master in Public Administration. Both will receive a DAAD scholarship for 2 years.
