Cooperation with Afghanistan: New Master Graduates

Programme Coordinator Nicole Dittrich reports on the Graduation of our 4th Master intake of Afghan lecturers.

Afghanistan Graduation webWe are happy to announce that the Afghan lecturers of our fourth intake of our programme have completed their Master studies in Economics and Management at the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB) at the beginning of this year. After two years of studying at the RUB, they received their certificates early this year. The festive graduation ceremony took place at the IEE and was joined by Prof. Farooqi, Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor Minister to the President of Afghanistan, as well as Mr. Balakarzai, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education. Furthermore, Mr. Ariyaee from the Afghan Embassy in Berlin took part in the ceremony. (See picture above from the ceremony, photo: private)

All 15 lecturers from different Afghan universities are now back in Afghanistan and have resumed teaching at their home universities. The programme was funded by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). We would like to thank all Professors, as well as research and administrative staff members for their participation and support.
