New journal articles co-authored by Dr. Elkhan Richard Sadik-Zada

Elkhan Richard Sadik Zada, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the IEE, has authored several new journal articles together with different co-authors.

In their new journal article "Social support as a mediator between selected trait engagement and employee engagement", Elkhan Sadik-Zada and co-authors collected information from a sample of 260 registered nurses working in public hospitals in Lagos, Nigeria, and analysed their data using AMOS-27 statistical software. Addressing the research gap that studies on employee engagement have mainly concentrated on organisational factors, focusing less on individual factors, the autors examined the relationship between autotelic personality, proactive personality, and employee engagement with an emphasis on the mediating effect of social support.

In their new editorial "Energy sustainability, vulnerability and resilience", Elkhan Sadik-Zada, Andrea Gatto and co-authors present a collection of articles that delve into the intricate interplay between energy sustainability, vulnerability and resilience, shedding light on both the pressing challenges and promising opportunities that lie ahead. The articles assembled by the authors in their topical collection provide valuable insights into the complexities of energy sustainability, drawing on rigorous scholarship and interdisciplinary inquiry to inform policy, inspire innovation and catalyze action toward a more resilient and equitable energy future.

"REDD+ in Indonesia: An assessment of the international environmental program", authored by Andrea Gatto and Elkhan Sadik-Zada, provides a comprehensive review of the literature and assesses the progress on the effects of Indonesia’s REDD+ program. Due to the significance of Indonesia in terms of global rainforests and the comprehensive implementation practice of REDD+ programs since 2009, the case study of Indonesia enables both authors to bring forward interesting insights regarding the challenges and opportunities of REDD+. Gatto and Sadik-Zada show that without international development cooperation in the field of climate change mitigation, the countries in the Global South lack locally driven forest conservation or restoration incentives as well as that despite the rigorous institutional design of REDD+ in Indonesia, not all the stakeholders could benefit from the program appropriately.
