Short Profile
Phillip joined the IEE in February of 2023 as a research fellow. He achieved his Master of Science in International Area Studies from Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg and additionally holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from Universität Bielefeld. His research interests encompass the sociological and geographical facets of urbanisation and urban studies. Currently he is working on the implications of the Belt-and-Road Initiative on urban development in East Africa. At the IEE he assists the organisation of this year’s Alumni-Conference in October while working on his doctoral research.
