    IEE Hosts Alumni Conference

    2019 11 RUB s"Evaluation of Development Interventions - Current Debates, Methods, and Best Practices"

    As a central part of its alumni activities, the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE; Ruhr-University Bochum) regularly organises alumni conferences in close collaboration with its partner master programmes. Against this background, the IEE hosts a conference from the 5th-8th of November 2019, titled “Evaluation of Development Interventions - Current Debates, Methods, and Best Practices” in Bochum. The conference partners are the MA programme in Development Management (MADM; IEE), the MA programme in International and Development Economics (MIDE; HTW Berlin), the Small Enterprise Promotion and Training Programme (SEPT; University of Leipzig), the MA programme in Development and Governance (Institute of Political Science (IfP); University of Duisburg-Essen), and the MA programme in International Relations and Development Policy (Institute for Development and Peace (INEF); University of Duisburg-Essen).

    PhD Exchange student from ISS

    2019 09 Yukari SekineYukari Sekine is a PhD Candidate of Development Studies at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague. She is part of the Political Ecology Research Group and will be joining the IEE from September 2019 to February 2020 for a PhD Exchange, funded by the RUB Research School. At the ISS, she was part of the MOSAIC Research Project: "Climate change mitigation policies, land grabbing and conflict in fragile states: understanding intersections, exploring transformations in Myanmar and Cambodia", under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Saturnino ('Jun') Borras Jr. which was concluded in 2018.

    PhD Thesis of Former EUSA_ID Scholarship Holder Published

    2019 08 vanderMarkElise van der Mark, who stayed for 2.5 years at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) with an "EUSA_ID" scholarship, now graduated at the "Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam" and published her PhD thesis with the title "Against All Odds: Exploring wellbeing transformation with mothers of disabled children from poor urban settlements in Southern Africa". During her stay at UWC, her thesis was co-supervised by Dr. Ina Conradie. Congratulations!
