Short Profile

Ulemj is a PhD candidate in International Development Studies, focusing on International Law. Her research explores the intersection of international investment law and international human rights law in the context of transnational development projects in the extractive industries in resource-rich countries. She holds a Master of Laws in Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom, and a Master of International Relations with a Master of International Trade and Commerce Law from Macquarie University, Australia, and a Specialist Diploma in Jurisprudence from Kuban State University, Russia. Ulemj has been awarded fully funded, merit-based scholarships for academic excellence by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Australian Leadership Awards, and by Rio Tinto and the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. She speaks Mongolian (native), English (fluent), Russian (fluent), German (intermediate), and French (basic).
