After defense of his doctoral thesis on Tuesday, 28 October 2014, IEE member Tobias Thürer was awarded the degree of a Doctor (Dr. rer. oec.) of the Faculty of Economics at RUB.

His dissertation was on "Does Speculation with Agricultural Commodity Futures Cause Price Bubbles in the Event of Negative Production Shocks", examiners were Prof. Bender, Prof. Löwenstein and Prof. Karl.
