Short Profile
Irene is a PhD. candidate on a joint candidature between Ruhr University Bochum and the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is a recipient of a scholarship from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska‐Curie grant agreement No. 956909 through the ADAPTED project (Eradicating Poverty: Pathways Towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals). Her research focuses on legal mechanisms for building coherent social protection systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. Irene holds a MSc (International Development) from Birmingham University, United Kingdom, and a MA (Public Administration & Management) from Makerere University Kampala.
