PhD IDS Student Ulemj Dovchin has successfully defended her PhD thesis titled "The Intersection of International Investment Law and International Human Rights Law - The Case of Natural Resource-Based Development and Nomadic Herder Communities in Mongolia" on December 10, 2025. Ms. Dovchin has been awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.).

Ulemj Dovchin’s PhD thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Markus Kaltenborn from the Ruhr-University Bochum's Law Department and Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Löwenstein from the IEE. The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Pierre Thielbörger of the IFHV of RUB.
