After successful defense of his PhD Thesis on Friday, July 10, 2015, IEE research fellow Elkhan Richard Zada has been awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor(Ph.D.).

On June 3, 2015, PhD IDS associate member Annalisa Addis from Italy has been awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) for her thesis on "Linking Huminatarian and Development Action in Ethiopia".

On 15 July 2015, Alphonce Omolo from Kenia has been awarded the degree of a Doctor (Dr. phil.) at the Faculty for Philosophy and Educational Research at RUB in the field of Comparative Education. During his studies at RUB Alphonce Omolo was a member of the PhD Programme in International Development Studies (PhD IDS).

On 10 March 2014, Silas Udahemuka from Rwanda has been awarded the degree of a Doctor (Ph.D.) in International Development Studies (IDS). He received a DAAD-funded scholarship of the South African-German Centre for Development Research for his doctoral studies.

Our student Carlos Villela Zavala from Honduras (grant holder of the RUB Research School) has been awarded the degree of a Doctor (Ph.D.) in International Development Studies (IDS) with a grade of 'summa cum laude'.

DAAD Student Samson Lembani from Malawi has been awarded the degree of a Doctor (Ph.D.) in International Development Studies (IDS). He received a DAAD-funded scholarship of the South African-German Centre for Development Research for his doctoral studies.
