After the welcome addresses by Prof. Wilhelm Löwenstein, Managing Director of the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy and Vice Rector of the RUB, and Prof. Julian May, University of the Western Cape (co-coordinator), Britta Niklas and Dr. Gabriele Bäcker presented the different items of the agenda and each partner of the consortium discussed their experiences during the first cohort, as well as lessons they have learned and intended to apply to future activities concerning staff and student mobilities.
The consortium was glad to meet again and took the opportunity to discuss future joint research activities with very promising results!

After the meeting, the partners took the chance to visit some industrial sights of the Ruhr Area (see pictures below).
Selection of new Scholarship Holders for the second cohort
As the 2nd Call for EUSA_ID scholarship applications expired on 12 April, the selection committee met during the mid-term meeting in Bochum and selected 10 new Master students, 5 PhD students and 3 staff applicants for a mobility grant for the 2nd cohort.
