Aid Effectiveness has become a fundamental part of the development agenda in most countries. With the adoption of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005) and the Accra Agenda for Action (2008) the international community tries to improve the quality of the delivery, management, and use of development assistance in order to maximize the developmental outcomes. The Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness can be seen as an important step towards formalizing and focusing international efforts to enhance the effectiveness of aid. It focuses on a partnership between developed and developing countries and codifies the principles and commitments by which the international community intends to ensure that aid leads to effective outcomes.
