The current edition of the IEE Newsletter comes at a festive time, with the Ruhr-University Bochum celebrating its 50th anniversary. While the Ruhr-University looks back at five decades, it is time again for us to look at the activities of the past six months, which encompass, inter alia, the start of a new intake of the PhD IDS, the start of a new cooperation at PhD level, and a summer school of the MADM in Cape Town. In addition, read about the experiences of one of our MADM students during an internship at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development; a walk down memory lane by Faustine Wabwire, one of our alumni; and what an IEE alumnus and a current student from Nepal, and a staff member with family ties to Nepal report from the earthquake-shaken country and how the reconstruction of the country can be supported. Enjoy the read!
