Gerald Ahabwe, MADM Alumnus of 2009, took part in the International Alumni Seminar on Water, Energy and Sanitation in Urban and Decentralized Regions at Oldenburg University from 3rd-12th April 2014 and presented a paper titled 'Using Prepaid meters to Improve piped water access for the urban poor: Experiences of National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Uganda'. MADM Alumni Isaac Eweh took part in an initiative of RUB's Alumni network and contributed a self-portrait with the blue RUB "cube" in front of the Akosombo Dam and the Volta Lake.

On 18th June 2013, IEE alumni Dr. Augustine Magolowondo participated in a VIP panel together with DAAD president Prof. Dr. Margret Wintermantel, Federal Minister Dirk Niebel (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, BMZ) and other DAAD alumni.
On 20th June, the IEE was proud to offer an expert lecture by the MADM alumni and former PhD student Dr. Augustine Magolowondo on the topic "The Future of Democracy Aid as an Agenda for Development Cooperation Reconsidered". The lecture took place in the course of the Master of Arts in Development Management classes, but was also open for everyone else interested in the topic.
On 23 May, Shafaq Hussain, Britta Niklas, Meik Nowak, Elkhan Sadik-Zada and Carlos Villela Zavala, supported by DGB Bildungswerk e.V., conducted a teacher-training on "Migration Today - consequences for racism-attentive education" at the IBZ, Ruhr-University Bochum.
